The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor

一般社団法人 日本甲冑武具研究保存会

September Research Meeting of the main branch

September research meeting of the main branch about child armour.

The September research meeting was held in a meeting room of the Enokichyouchiiki center,
while it was still extremely hot weather.

Executive director of the armour society,
armour maker Fumio Nishioka was the lecturer,
and he brought with him a copy that he himself made of a famous small armour miniature
(the original is in the Emperial Household).

While he showed many rare pictures,
he gave a very interesting lecture about child armour.

Armour that was made for very wealthy family
as an offer or for small children was exquisitely constructed.

The beauty and the soul of Japanse armour as made from metal,
leather and textile became once more very clear.

After the presentation,
when the room came again bright,
excited faces were visible.

Also people who are no members of the society would have been moved.

The fee to enter the society, especially also for students.
is low and we can without hesitation recommend to become a member.
